While Indonesia's climate and policy modeling landscape has become more sophisticated and vibrant, there remain some long-standing challenges. Research and resources on modeling stay opaque and scattered between institutions, with research priorities and gaps being unmapped. Additionally, Modelers often work on ad-hoc projects, lacking a continuity perspective. Project-based exercises also tend to be short-term, bypassing the opportunity for knowledge accumulation and model improvements over time. Through an open modeling source, it would improve understanding of the modeling process and results as well as foster exchanges of ideas.
